Chuck's Final Race
On Living and Dying Well

Choosing quality of life
My upcoming book shares a deeply personal journey, chronicling the final six months of my late husband's life and the period that followed, as well as our love story. It began as a way to cope and keep his memory alive, through writing during our sacred vigil and after his passing. This narrative was inspired by his wish for others to understand that it is acceptable to choose quality of life over the "fight" mentality often associated with a stage 4 diagnosis. It's a message of courage, acceptance, and living fully, even in the face of profound challenges.

For those seeking to live and die well
This book is for anyone interested in exploring what it means to live and die well. We all share the common thread of mortality, and understanding how to prepare for the inevitable can ease the process for both ourselves and those we leave behind. Through my husband's journey, and my own, I aim to offer insights, comfort, and a path toward embracing life's full spectrum, encouraging readers to consider how they want to approach their own journeys.

Chuck's final race: A compelling read
For those who knew Chuck LeRose, this book will offer a particularly special reading experience. Chuck was a Wisconsin State champion cross country runner in his youth, and his story touched many lives. Reading about his "final race" will provide a profound, full-circle moment for his classmates, friends, and family, connecting his early triumphs with his courageous end-of-life journey. It's a testament to a life lived with passion and determination, right up to the very end.
